offering 3 services

Counseling.  Caregiver Support & Consultation.  Clinical Supervision.

  • I am a licensed clinician with over 24 years of experience.  My specialties include providing psychotherapy to help clients: cope with chronic illness, age with dignity, and learn to live and to thrive with physical and emotional disabilities.

  • Caregivers need support - whether they are new in their caregiving role or further along in their process - so I work with them to find understanding, maintain balance, and achieve self-care.  I am also available on a consultation basis to help caregivers navigate the world of caring for someone with medical needs.

  • Providing clinical supervision to Associate Social Workers who are working toward sitting for the exam to become licensed clincial social workers allows me to use my experience as a clinician to guide and train therapists.   I offer individual and/or triadic supervision to recent graduates of social work graduate school.

how I can help

& my philosophy

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2001, I am deeply committed to supporting the well-being of each client, providing culturally competent services, and helping clients improve their quality of life.  For nearly 25 years, I have been working with older and disabled adults, often dealing with chronic illness or a new diagnosis.  I have an extensive history working in acute care hospital and home health settings.  I am also available to assist caregivers with therapy or on a consultation basis to help them navigate through the health care system.

I believe that positive change is possible at any age and at any juncture in a person's life.

I believe you can have a better, more fulfilling life, and I can help give you the tools to get there.

As my client, you will learn techniques to cope with stressors better, deal with grief and loss, and improve your quality of life. I offer sessions that are tailored to you and your needs.  I take an "ecclectic" approach and use techniques from various modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Grief Therapy, Brief Psychotherapy, and Humanistic Therapy.

Coping with depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, illness, facing your mortality and aging, in general, as well as changes in mobility, cognition, or quality of life can be challenging.  Caring for a loved one with medical or psychological issues can also be difficult.  If you are motivated to make some changes to bring about fulfillment and self-care, and need support to do that, I will walk with you and help guide you there.
